Plato to North Amherst Post Office History Chronicle
Amherst town names diverged from the post office name as Plato served early residents. Josiah Harris, a pivotal leader, ran Plato post office for 41 years until 1868 and shaped Amherstville. Post office names shifted through Amherst Corners, Amherstville, and finally North Amherst in 1872, with Brooks serving the nearby Amherst post office before its 1901 closure.

Clearview asks voters for emergency renewal levy on ballot
Clearview Schools board approved placing an emergency renewal levy on the spring ballot. The 2.52 mill levy would raise about 352,690 annually for 10 years, costing a $100,000 home about 88 per year. First year 2027. Superintendent Jerome Davis says funds are essential and the renewal keeps fiscal status quo amid a projected 2 million cash deficit in 2027.
