New sheriff eyes mounted unit and skyward support in Lorain County
Lorain County Sheriff elect Jack Hall plans a revived mounted deputy program with two to four horses and three to five riders funded by donations. A donor funded tack sale is planned and volunteers may board horses at local facilities. He also explores a county helicopter for search and rescue and aerial surveillance using the 1033 program, aiming to avoid any tax money.
