Man charged with attempted murder in Lorain library stabbing
Roy Lee Fennell, 44, indicted by a Lorain County grand jury on one count of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of tampering with evidence, and a misdemeanor resisting arrest. He is accused of stabbing a 23 year old man at Lorain Public Library on Nov. 18. The victim was treated at Mercy Health Lorain and flown to MetroHealth in Cleveland. Merritt restrained the suspect. Fennell remained jailed on a $500,000 bond as the case awaits assignment to a judge.

An unoccupied Elyria Police Department auxiliary Chevrolet Tahoe parked on Harwood Street was hit by a driver at about 11:40 p.m. The car's driver Kevin White Jr., 18, was cited for no operator's license, failure to maintain control, and leaving the scene. A 17-year-old passenger sustained a rib injury but was released after LifeCare paramedics evaluated him.
