Norwalk man sues Lorain County jail officers over assault
Franklin Ward, 40, filed a federal lawsuit in Cleveland alleging Lorain County Jail corrections officers beat him while an inmate in December 2022. He names Lorain County Sheriff's Office, the jail, officer Shea Adkisson and 10 unnamed guards, seeking more than 150000 in damages per count across six counts. Ward says Adkisson used a choke hold, causing loss of consciousness and a seizure, with further assaults by others after he was restrained and returned to custody, leading to 11 days in hospital care.
