Man indicted in murder of grandfather in Elyria
Lorain County grand jury charged Joseph Ward 20 with 21 counts including 16 felonies for the February 21 incidents. Prosecutors say Ward menaced his grandparents Malcolm and Pamela Watters with a handgun and beat Malcolm Watters to death with a shovel eight times in the Augdon Drive home before fleeing to an apartment and being arrested hours later. Ward faces two aggravated murder and four murder counts among the felonies in the death of Malcolm Watters.
