Thousand-Pound Shark Catches Beachgoers in Ocean Fishery
Captain Chris Neilson and the crew of James W. Cunningham’s Ocean Fishery netted a monster of over twelve feet and more than a thousand pounds at Takanassee Lake. The shark resisted capture for nearly 30 minutes before being muzzled and hauled ashore, drawing crowds and photographers who believed it a whale. A Philadelphia firm bought the prize and shipped it to the Quaker City.
