New ruling raises state corporate tax by over $100000 yearly
Attorney General Edmund Wilson directs the state board of assessors to tax corporations on capital stock issued and outstanding. Under the ruling, even firms with no stock will be billed one dollar each, increasing annual receipts by more than $100,000. Previously about 100 to 150 companies paid no tax due to no stock.

Charles G DuBois of Red Bank died last night in the Germania Hotel after a brief illness from gastrin trouble that developed into diabetes. He was 44 or 45, survived by a brother and two sisters, with funeral set for Sunday night at the Germania Hotel. He previously owned the Globe Hotel with DuBois & Jones and later the Germania, was active in local racing, and served as director of racing at the Monmouth County Fair.
