A car crashes into a light pole in two places, throwing occupants from the vehicle. All four occupants suffer minor injuries to the head and body, with one missing pin noted in the investigation. The incident halted traffic as responders attended the scene.
David Lewis and Charles J. Cattanach narrowly escaped serious injury when the Marion 45 horsepower car, driven by Lewis, struck an electric light pole on Bath avenue last Saturday afternoon. A missing small pin caused steering failure. Both men were thrown from the seat. Lewis suffered a scalp wound and abdominal pain, while Cattanach sustained a hip injury and head pain. They refused hospital care, opting to recover at home. Strausberger, owner of the car, regretted the wreck but thanked the men for escaping unharmed.
The Monmouth County Baptist Ministerial Association holds a ses sion at First Baptist Church Red Bank with meetings every two months. The next gathering is the first Monday in January. Jersey City, Nov 3. Governor Fielder issued a statement replying to a circular from the New Jersey Civil Service Association seeking a pledge to back future measures. He says he has not seen the questions, would not pledge support to unseen measures, and relies on the Democratic platform and Civil Service Act. He defends his record and notes no action of his opposes civil service.
Westerblad Axel, longtime worker for the late William R. Warwick, died in White Haven Pennsylvania after a decades-long illness linked to a Monmouth Avenue fire entrapment. He was nearly sixty and his remains were brought home by Funeral Director William El Morris Jr. Arrangements await. In Bucharest data, Moreni district suffers a 24 hour blaze causing five million dollars in damage with twenty five wells ablaze.
Militant suffragettes set fire to a railway depot at Spreatham Hill a suburb of London causing $20 000 damage. Debris on the tracks halted traffic for hours as trains were stopped and services disrupted.
Dennis Leary of California returns to his boyhood area and reunites with sister Mrs Julia Donovan in New York and Long Branch. The trio visits Ellen Doran in Norwood Avenue and plans to tour Middletown township. Leary, a governor friend of Hiram Johnson, lives on ranches near Sacramento. A 5 cent Auto Bus fare remains unchanged until January 1.
Governor Fielder wraps up a strenuous speaking tour in New Jersey with stops in Salem County and multiple Monmouth Union and Essex County towns. He attacks Governor Stokes and old guard bosses, citing Allied names and election fraud cases to show the need for progressive support for the Democratic ticket.

A wedding yesterday morning at the Church of the Precious Blood at Sleawouth Beach united Miss Quinn of New York and Monmouth Beach with Louis Zipp of the city. The ceremony followed nine o'clock mass by Father Tighe. The bride wore a blue travelling suit and hat, with Miss Quinn as bridesmaid in blue. Charles Horner stood as best man. The couple hosted a reception at the Horner home for 30 to 50 guests, with decorations of flags and flowers. They depart for an extended honeymoon to Atlantic City.

In Salem County Governor Fielder announced investigations found Stokes campaign ads false. He cited affidavits from Camden Phillipsburg and Buffalo alleging no plant layoffs tied to the tariff. He noted the delay of the news until just before the election and questioned why Camden and Phillipsburg papers did not print the ad.
Veronica Stephan and George Huckelew of Manasquan wed this Friday at the First Baptist Church Red Bank with Miss Francis and J B LaVance of Manasquan as witnesses in a ceremony led by Rev. J L Miner.
George Davie, a Wet Long Branch resident and skilled mechanic, died after a spree of heavy drinking. His body was found in a barn on the Mrs. James H. Woolley property on Cedar Avenue. Coroner William H. Morris Jr. deemed an inquest unnecessary. Davie, 46, was born in Long Branch and lived in West Long Branch, unmarried, with a sister and a brother surviving. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the house, with burial in the family vault at Rumson. Roberts Mount and Son handled arrangements.
