Bungalow Fire Near Rail Tracks Threatens Homes

A bog fire next to railroad tracks at the foot of Colinhas place threatened nearby bungalows including the Thompson residence. Firemen fought stubborn flames for over an hour as alderbrush and cattails fed the fire and sparks from passing trains were blamed. In a separate note North Long Branch beat Oakhurst 12 to 0 at home, with a rematch set next Saturday.

Verdict awards $793.25 to Mrs Reid in Palmateer suit

After hours of deliberation a jury awarded Mrs Macy Louse Reid $793.25 for services to the late John Palmateer. Red Bank Youths Fail to Tear Down Fence Amid Vandalism

A group of about 200 Red Bank youths attacked the Poulsen West fence on Broad Street and halted when police intervened. They turned off street lights, set a wagon and debris ablaze, and scuffled with officers near the Public Service yard and Lyric theatre. no shots were fired.

Flower Exhibit Delights at Eiberon Horticultural Show

Charles Hurn of the Daniel Guggenheim estate won first prize for best table dinner decoration at the Asbury Park Casino closing day. George Musson earned second prize for table decor with Sillburst roses and maiden hair ferns. Honorable mention went to Anthony Hauer for a composition using cattleyas orchids and dendrobium. The exhibit was praised as one of the society’s best.
