Manasquan loses suit over clerk error on Main Street ordinance

New Jersey May 18 Justice Voorhees of the New Jersey Supreme Court set aside Manasquan Borough’s ordinance widening a Main street section after finding the clerk failed to record votes detail. The July 13 1909 passage was approved by the mayor but lacked a detailed roll call record. Costs deemed heavy against the borough.

Plan Fine Decorations For G A R Encampment Event

Mrs Mary Ann Warwick Dies After Stroke in Long Branch

Mrs Mary Ann Warwick widow of William R Warwick died at home after a sudden stroke. Born in Doddington England August 13 1887 she came to the United States 44 years ago and lived in Long Branch for 35. She leaves five children William R Thomas Mrs Edward Coley Mrs Edwin Venable and Mrs Daniel H Van Brunt all in Long Branch. Man Crushed Between Cars in Sea Gift Accident

William Layton of Allaire was killed yesterday afternoon at Sea Gift when a coupling failed and the engine backed down on him while he fastened the cars. The coroner cited internal injuries. Layton, about 50, left a wife and eleven children. Frank Travis, Layton’s son in law, was driving the engine.
