Forest Fire Threat Near Farmingdale Driven Back

A forest fire started near White's schoolhouse four miles west of Farmingdale Tuesday morning, burning a large tract of woodland valued for timber. Wind and speed aided the flames, despite efforts to stop them, until the fire reached the Manasquan river near Aydena. Rev. John H. Windeler’s Tranquility farm buildings were saved, while Rural Carrier John W. Goodhart faced a close call as flames swept toward him. Several neighbors, including J. W. Goodhart, were affected by the blaze and losses were reported among local landowners.
