Rugs Recovered In Chelsea Theft Case
George E. Poland owner of the Hotel Phelando on Chelsea avenue identified two rugs recovered by police and later two more were found with suspect George J. Jenkins. A fourth rug sold by Jenkins surfaced through Mrs. Israel Feltman who bought two rugs for $4 from a man in a Third avenue store. Detective Captain Walling secured the rugs at City Hall, tying the case to the acting suspect who had access to the Phelando premises. Patrolman Louis Vetter’s suspicions helped thwart the seller’s plans on Broadway.

Members of the Holy Name Society at St James Parish Red Bank formed a social branch. Thomas Little was elected president with Frank Saguerton as vice president James A Larkins secretary and Charles Hoffman treasurer Rev Father James A Reynolds named spiritual adviser. A monthly social meeting schedule was set and a Holy Name parade planned for next October with location to be decided. The monthly meetings will be held on the second Tuesday each month at St James Club House.

Robbers Hold Up Queen and Crescent Train at Water Tank
In Hattiesburg Mississippi on May 15 two masked men stopped a Queen and Crescent passenger train at a water tank and forced the crew to reveal the safe before dynamiting it. About $240000 was taken though some money may be ruined by the blasts as passengers were not harmed and the robbers escaped with no identified clues yet.

Chester French Dead After Indigestion Attack
Chester A. French of New York died at 4 30 this morning from acute indigestion after moving into a house opposite Monmouth Park in Eaton town Boulevard. He was 68, in poor health, and survived by his wife a daughter in Hartford Conn and sister Harriet French. Funeral arrangements by Robert T. Smith of Red Bank not yet completed.
