Red Bank Restaurateur Held After Assault Charge
Saratoga restaurant proprietor E W Henman was arrested about 11 PM on assault and disturbing the peace charges filed by former waiter Ollie White. At Borough Hall he posted $100 bail for grand jury action and paid a $2 Borough ordinance fine after a hearing before Justice Theodore F Sniffen. White reportedly insulted Henman, leading to a heated exchange in front of the eatery. Henman then restrained him. Also noting Lyric Annex New Airdome opened in Atlantic Highlands Saturday with full house and standing room.

Red Bank Boy Nearly Drowned in River incident
Walter Buckley ten year old son of Mr and Mrs John Buckley of Locust avenue Red Bank was saved from drowning yesterday afternoon when a friend nearby James Nelson who lived next door left work early at four o clock. The boy who could not swim slipped beneath the river current near Locust avenue as a group of companions crossed to the west side and began returning to the east side. Others reached safety while Walter sank and cried out for help. The rescue is attributed to luck and Nelsons early departure.

Cliffwood elopers nabbed in Chicago entanglement
Anolo Mangarella aged 21 and Alice Amenta aged 12 eloped from Cliffwood last week. They were found in the Italian quarter of Chicago with 600 to 800 dollars of the girl's family money. Mangarella, once employed at Lenox Brick Works, faced extradition after authorities traced their movements from Newark to Chicago.

Queer Stranger Detained After Farm Yard Incident
A Georgia man calling himself Vernon Barnes, 48, was found in the Davis coal yard acting oddly at 8 am. He bare headed, jumped fences, and hid. a driver fired into the air to scare him away. Barnes was arrested by Patrolman Martin and taken to City Hall, where he spoke incoherently. A Byron engine house window was broken during the night, which Martin suspects Barnes caused.
