The Navesink Volunteer Fire Company benefit sponsored by local ladies at the town hall on Monmouth Avenue raised 400 to aid purchase of a new auto fire truck. The hall featured Japanese lanterns flags and bunting with numerous donations including a silk umbrella a mahogany cabinet and silver items from local residents and businesses. Car Crash on Ocean Avenue Injures No One
Last night at 645 PM a Rambler owned by EB Burganer of Belmar and a Locomobile owned by Andy Lustbaum collided on Ocean Avenue near North Long Branch station. Both cars were badly damaged but no injuries occurred. Passengers included Burganer family and a chauffeur in the Rambler and five women and a baby in the Locomobile. The cars were towed or pushed to nearby spots, with insurance and legal counsel involved this morning.

Long Branch Elks Honor Mayer Hahn at Haan Funeral
The New Bern N C native Mayer Hahn aged 67 was buried at Cypress Hills after funeral services at his daughter’s home in Branchport Long Branch Lodge No 742 B P C also conducted the rites. Survived by four daughters one son eight grandchildren and a great grandchild. Hahn served Craven County as sheriff and was Collector of Customs for the Pamlico District under McKinley. He spent summers in Long Branch where he had many friends.

Picnic sport and accident mark Cedarville picnic day
A Cedarville man, Lewis Moncrief, suffered a severe heel injury when his foot was caught on a turntable at East Long Branch. He was taken to Monmouth Memorial Hospital by fellow brakeman Charles Fry after the accident during a Capital Sunday school picnic at Highlands featuring a baseball game and athletic events.
