Oshers Union Outing Promotes Church Federation Theme

The Oshers' Union of the First Baptist Church Teed Bank held its third annual outing at Al Smith's Oceanport resort. Attendees included Baptist guests and two representatives each from the Presbyterian Ushers' and Methodist bands. Edwin Conover showcased high jumping, with others joining in field games before a shore dinner featuring steamed clams fried clams fried crab fried chicken and watermelons.

German airship disaster claims ten lives

Berlin reports the Erbsloeh dirigible crashed near Cologne while en route to Dusseldorf. Five passengers including inventor Oscar Erbsloeh died, along with crew members Spicke Tolle Hoepps and Kranz. Eyewitnesses say a gas expansion during a gale likely caused the 2500 foot fall. Troops rushed to the scene as authorities investigated.

First Marriage Under New License Law At Long Branch

Horses Fall 50 Feet From Bridge in Atlantic Highlands

A team pulling a Seigel Cooper delivery wagon plunged 50 feet from Mount Avenue Stone Bridge in Atlantic Highlands. Driver William Gorman delivered a package and later found the horses suspended by harnesses with serious injuries. One horse suffered a deep cedar wound. both were taken to James Sage’s livery. No bones were broken.

The home, run by Pennsylvania Railroad retirees at Al be on, marks twenty years of operation. It houses sixteen girls from winter to May in Philadelphia and allows May to October residence in Long Branch. Brooklyn Boys Narrowly Escape Drowning Near Atlantic Highlands

Two Brooklyn youths Charles Hance and George Beatty, summering at Atlantic Highlands, capsized a mutton-sailed canoe a half mile from shore after a gust while near the steamer Sandy Hook. Rescued by nearby launches, Beatty was exhausted but saved. both received stimulants and were cared for ashore.

The Board of Governors of Monmouth Memorial Hospital awarded several contracts for a new brick power house and laundry building. Frank Dobson Company of Philadelphia won the steam heating plant bid at 7045 dollars, H W Johns Manville Co secured the conduit work at 1071.50 dollars, and B F Sturtevant Company will install engines and generators for 2790 dollars.
