Car Fainting Spell Sends Driver Into Pole in West Grove
J Luther Bright, long time visitor, suffered a heat induced fainting spell while driving on Corlies avenue West Grove. The self steering car struck a telegraph pole and landed on an embankment but Bright escaped serious injury. The damaged vehicle was later hauled to a gorge in Elberon.

Santa Rosa wreck blamed on captain after 29 deaths
Survivors report four crewmen and twenty five passengers perished as the steamer Santa Rosa was torn apart on rocks near Santa Barbara. The second officer and four crew members drowned while attempting to reach a line ashore. passengers and 81 crew members survived. Mother’s Prayer At Son’s Funeral Moves Community
Mrs. Charles Wegeman stood beside her eight year old son’s coffin in Bradley Park Long Branch and offered a solemn prayer for her five remaining children and husband. She said a vision after the death guided her to pray at the funeral and recounted the child’s last moments as he cried mamma. The service at the Wegeman home drew a large crowd and Rev. Alexander Patton preached. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery West Long Branch.

Man Dies at City Hall After Distress
Robert Phillips son of the late John and Elizabeth Phillips died at City Hall Thursday night at 9 15 o clock. He had been dissipating of late and was found in the U 8 hotel field by Patrolman Edwards. Dr Gremer tried to save him and his body was given to Hyer and Floek funeral directors.
