Auto-Sleigh Plunges Into Airhole in Ice Yacht Race
Fred Waters owner of an auto sleigh and Frederick Barnard actor on the film set were thrown from a speeding ice boat near Red Bank after the air hole undermined the ice. Waters suffered a deep cut above the eye and a gash on the leg. Barnard had bruises. The pair were filming The Banker's Daughter when the crash halted production.

Rainbow 1, a New York owned yacht of O. F. Roberts, won two cup races at the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club. The fifteen mile Weiner cup finished with Rainbow 1 beating Fiedler’s Ingenue by five seconds after leading most of the long contest. The Price cup saw Roberts on Rainbow 1 finish ahead of Ingenue by nearly two minutes.

Mays Landing January 24 Louis Kuehnle Republican boss of Atlantic City received one year at hard labor and a $1000 fine for participating as water commissioner in a water main construction contract. Freeholders John Answorth Frank Enderlin Colone and Estell Rightmeyer were each sentenced to one year and ordered to pay prosecution costs for extorting money from contractors. Thomas McDaevitt and Geo Ameole received six and three months for election frauds. Defendants admitted to bail pending appeal.

The North Shrewsbury river at Red Bank will host a two part ice carnival Friday with trotting and skating races in the afternoon and a masquerade carnival in the evening. Horse collides with trolley in Second Avenue mishap
A Cohen Bros horse attached to a light delivery wagon failed in front of the Carr cottage on Second Avenue near Franklin Avenue. The northbound trolley car unexpectedly stopped to avoid the horse as it shied, shattering glass and damaging the car’s fender. The horse sustained a six inch cut, then dragged the wagon to Chelsea Avenue before colliding with a pole and finally being taken to Cohen stables for treatment.
