Deserted babe found dead in Sea View and Long Branch avenue
An unknown infant, abandoned, was found dead from starvation and exposure behind a property at Sea View and Long Branch avenue. Four or five boys discovered a small package, opened it, and located the baby boy, about two days old, wrapped in wastepaper under a watershirt and torn skirt. Boulevard Promoter Recovering From Illness

Victim Recovers From Carbolic Acid Attempt
Mrs Bessie Woolley reportedly tried to take carbolic acid last Friday night and is rapidly recovering at Monmouth Memorial Hospital. Her life was saved by the small quantity swallowed and her lips burned, though her face remains largely undisfigured. Patrolman Clayton transported her to the hospital after she had been staying at the Kahle home on Long Branch avenue. Also noted, five yachts from the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club began the Price Cup race Saturday afternoon but retired after five laps due to insufficient wind, with Imp and Jack Frost in lead at that time. The other entrants were Crab Isabel and Rainbow. Additionally, the U S Recruiting Station opened at City Hall this morning with several officers in charge and a number of applicants presenting themselves.
