Sight in left eye jeopardized by flying tack accident
Harry Nathanson of Garfield avenue Morrisage was injured by a flying tack while removing carpet tacks in his home. The steel point pierced the lens of his left eye, and after treatment by a New York eye specialist the doctors hope sight may be saved though it remains uncertain. Earlier, Dr. Paul Kahn warned the injury could be permanent. State temperance leaders scheduled a parlor meeting for February 29 with Mrs. A Swan Brown, State Superintendent, to discuss Scientific Temperance Instruction in public schools.

Navy Recruiting Station Opens in City Hall
A U S Navy Recruiting Station opens in City Hall on Monday and will remain until February 26. Recruits for boilermaking copper smith machinist firemen coal passer apprentice seaman and hospital and clerical posts will enlist with a $60 clothing outfit and government paid travel after enlistment.
