Holiday brides increase and two weddings tell of Joy

A church ceremony at Holy Trinity in this city united Lena Strollo and Aresto Cambrozi with Godparents from Philadelphia and Jersey City. The couple plans a honeymoon in Atlantic City after a New York departure. In Highlands Celina Lining and Arthur Robertson wed at home on Christmas Eve with about fifty guests and a brief honeymoon trip to New York. Robertson is a Central Railroad freight agent and plans to build a home soon.

Choir Hosts Surprise Evening at First M B Church

Sun Yat Sen Elected President of New Chinese Republic

Shanghai reports Dr Sun Yat Sen elected president by the provisional military assembly. Eight thousand troops were sent to Nanking to guard officials as royal family members prepare to flee Peking. Sun states aim to secure peace and stable government promptly. Japan says it will not interfere in China’s affairs or seek to preserve the Manchu dynasty.

Red Bank Firemen Handle Fire Well

Three Red Bank fire companies responded to an alarm at Prospect avenue and East Front street. The blaze in Marion street home of Joseph Fix and family was controlled in about fifteen minutes. Damages include a destroyed bureau with papers and roughly 200 dollars to the house.

Pastor Selected as Teacher for Local League

At a Religious Committee meeting of the Men's League of the Red Bank First Baptist Church Rev. Johnson L. Miner was chosen as teacher for the League. On Friday night January 5 the League and friends will be hosted by Rev and Mrs Miner at the Baptist parsonage in Maple Oversea for an informal program and social time. Sudden Death of Mrs Elizabeth Nolan in Chelsea

Mrs Elizabeth Nolan 28 died suddenly at her Chelsea home last night after a period of illness. Her death leaves a 18 month old son motherless, with her husband deceased years ago. Heyer and Fleck to conduct the interment. funeral arrangements pending.

Notch Night at Asbury M E Church Ends Year

Monmouth Plans Ocean Highway Work and Bridge Bid

A Monmouth County meeting lets a Long Branch contractor rebuild the Hedgemere bridge near Deal golf club grounds. The 320 foot wooden span bids about half the next low bid, with $2,180 winning. The board also calls for bids on Waterwitch Park gravel road at Highlands and for a stone Allentown Yardville segment of just over one mile.

Snyder Drops Suit In Red Bank Over Empire Theatre Billing

William P. Snyder of the Union Hotel Red Bank withdrew a damage suit against Charlie Ritter proprietor of the Empire Theatre at Monmouth Street after a council with his attorneys. The case sought $25 for actors wages and board bills contested by Poole Co. and the Actors Society. Snyder will pay costs and drop the action.

Christmas Jubilee at First Baptist Sunday School

The First Baptist Sunday School held a Christmas Jubilee at 8 o clock in the church audience room. A large program featured primary department exercises with awards for faithful attendance, a speech by Superintendent Davison, and gifts for many students.
