The Monmouth County Farmer's Exchange, in its fifth annual meeting at Freehold, shows profits rising from eliminating middlemen. Five year capital rose to 75,195 with a 5 percent dividend. total business this year 941,765.51, down from last year’s 1,000,400 due to drought reducing potato yield and prices.
The Central avenue grocery store conducted by Tannenbaum and Schultz was robbed early yesterday morning of about 50 dollars worth of goods. Entry was gained through a rear window and a glass pane removed. A book of trading stamps postage stamps candy a gold fountain pen and other items were taken. The money drawer was opened but only about fifty pennies remained. Police investigate with suspicion on local boys. A separate notice says the Federation of Red Bank church organizations will meet tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Albert Woolley son of Mr and Mrs Harry G Woolley of Norwood avenue reached his majority on Saturday with many callers. Gifted a hand painted picture by Miss Edith Wheeler in celebration. Flora Cloughly widow of Alfred Cloughly died this morning at her daughter Mrs William Showlers home in Asbury Park aged about 55. Surviving children include Mrs Showler Alfred Fred and Eugene Cloughly. Joseph Hirsenfeld and Son offer wines liquors and souvenirs at Broadway address in notice.
Delhi reports Lord Hardinge the Viceroy of India was wounded in the shoulder when a bomb was thrown from a house top during the Viceregal Durbar signaling the shift of India's capital from Calcutta to Delhi. Lady Hardinge unhurt. a native attendant was killed. The Viceroy's wound is not considered dangerous.
Mrs Ida Haye Cornwell wife of Elwood Cornwell attempted suicide by swallowing carbolic acid in her Broad Street Red Bank room. Golfer John Shringer saved her by grabbing the bottle and preventing worse harm. She was treated for mouth burns and is reported recovering.
Nearly eight hundred needy children will be entertained this afternoon by the Society of the Improvement of the Poor. Santa Claus will distribute gifts and refreshments in the Grand Theatre. Ladies have organized weeks of planning and donations continue from supporters including Mrs. Hortense Salsbury and others.
John Callahan a New York businessman and longtime summer resident of Long Branch for twenty years died at his Bath avenue home after a few weeks illness. Survived by a widow and daughter Julia, his funeral at 9 30 this morning included solemn mass at Star of the Sea Church with Father Haloran Crean and Cantwell officiants, organist Miss Bessie Herbert, and pallbearers listed. Interment followed in Calgary cemetery in New York. Funeral directors Hyer and Flock arranged services.
In New York on December 23 indictments charging criminal restraint of trade were returned against Charles Mellen president of the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad Pregnant Chamberlain of the Grand Trunk Railroad and Alfred W. Smithers chairman of the Grand Trunk board. Grand jury findings relate to traffic agreements between Grand Trunk and New Haven approved by New Haven but not Grand Trunk. None appeared in court. lawyers to be notified to plead.

A couple were thrown into an old ice pond when their automobile left the road. The wife sustained painful injuries while the husband escaped with minor harms as bystanders rushed to assist.
Rev. Dr. Ross McClements, crippled by a railroad accident last summer, returned to the pulpit at First Presbyterian Church Asbury Park. He spoke from a raised chair without rising, amid tearful congregants, and announced this is the happiest day of his life as he resumes pastoral duties.

Red Bank High School and Middletown Township High School opened the season at Red Bank Y M C A court with Red Bank’s first team winning 48 to 5 and the second teams tallying 25 to 1. Kenneth McQueen starred for Red Bank. referee Ensley White handled both games. The Red Bank first team will host Rahway on January 11 at the Y M C A court.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans of Markham Place Little Silver escaped serious injury after their car swerved off Branch avenue. The vehicle toppled through a wire fence, rolled down a four foot embankment, and ended up in two feet of mud. Mr. Evans was propelled from the car and buried to his waist. Mrs. Evans was bruised and suffered knee injuries from the shock.
At Bridge avenue Red Bank a white man and two colored men fought after a wagon scrape. All parties were arrested and heard before Recorder Badeau. The report details a confrontation involving Percy Evans, Chariga and Andrew Richardson, a hammer and a heavy file used during the altercation. Continued on Third Page.
Secretary of State David Crater underwent December 9 knee ligament surgery at his Freehold home after a fall in Rogers Peet and Company store in New York last October. Doctors report progress toward recovery and expect he will walk without a cane in about two months.
Twenty members of a Red Bank club were entertained Sunday night by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Hill at their Maple Avenue home. Five Hundred was the main diversion with awards given to Mrs. Charles Ross Mrs. Robert Brasch Charles Coure and Mr. Hill. Refreshments followed.
Stryker and Stryker of Red Bank have purchased a 40 HP Mack moving truck with 6000 pound capacity for their public service and hauling business. The new vehicle meets rising demand as the firm expands warehousing and garage operations.
The Christmas rush at the post office is described as the biggest in history with many packages arriving last Saturday. Clerks and carriers delayed until after nine and some items required a second trip as the day wore on. By eleven o clock over 16 000 one cent stamps had been sold. The rush is expected to grow tomorrow as staff plan earlier hours to clear counters. The volume of incoming parcels surpassed outgoing mail.
Captain George H. Green of Bath Avenue has been very ill at his daughter Mia's home but is improving. Harry Wardell of Asbury Park also shows slight improvement after a motor trip here yesterday. A notable Evangelistic committee meeting will be held at James Clougly's home tomorrow evening to plan events for the upcoming theatre engagement and press notice. Empire Theatre on Monmouth Street features pictures, vaudeville acts, and entertainments. Joseph Hirschfeld and Ben operate a Broadway wine offer for Christmas dinners with free souvenirs.
