Fugitive Youth Harsh Arrest In Red Bank Pit
Harry Hohman a Red Bank youth was arrested by Detective Elwood Minagh on charges of atrocious assault and battery and stealing money from Thomas Stanton known as Blackey. Stanton reported being beaten with a shoe in James Morton barn hayloft at Little Silver Tuesday night and later showed a bloodstained shoe. Hohman, 20, claimed self defense and denied theft, offering a varied history including canal boat work and prior suspicions in a warehouse fire.

Daniel Bodine of Long Branch, about 52, died at Monmouth Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born on a North Pemberton farm, he was the son of Stryker and Mary Bodine. He married at Toms River. his wife and one son predeceased him. Surviving are a Philadelphia son and two sisters in Mt Holly and Philadelphia. Cremains or funeral plans not yet announced.
