Holiday Bazaar Opens With Prayer At St Luke's

For three nights the annual Holiday Bazaar by the Ladies Aid Society of St Luke's Methodist Episcopal Church opens with a prayer service. The event, in its fifteenth year, features many booths including a Japanese gift booth, lemonade and ice cream stands, and a seven five cent chicken supper.

Deficit Noted For Asbury Park Carnival Committee

At the Red Bank Board of Education meeting Squire Brijan M. Conk of Borden street resigned as truant officer after charges by Loyal N. Bohannan alleging liquor influence at the Sheridan Hotel and vulgar abuse on December 4. The resignation, accepted unanimously, takes effect immediately. Conk remains constable-elect. The hearing record and complaint were read, and the matter was filed.

Man Found Dead at Foot of Stairs in Rockwell Home

Patrick Ryan about 67 was found dead at his Rockwell Avenue home by neighboring occupants. Coroner Morris ruled heart failure after a fall down the stairs. no foul play suspected. Ryan lived alone and had long worked landscaping and hedge care, with funeral arrangements not yet set.

Men’s Turkey Supper at First Presbyterian Delivers Record Service

The First Presbyterian Church men’s turkey supper set a record by serving 360 people in two hours with Prof. Frederick K. Ball’s orchestra providing music. Fifty waiters in evening dress worked from 6 30 to 7 30, and 250 pounds of turkey were eaten. Charles C. Lloyd prepared the turkeys and plans for 1000 servings next year are already underway.

Besler Hosts Notables From New Jersey Rail Lines

Mr Besler entertained W G Besler vice president and general manager of the Central Railroad of New Jersey with a dinner and overnight at Lakewood. Boys Use Forged Orders to Buy Goods

Andy Lustbaum proprietor of Andy's Garage met City Hall with a boy claiming to be William Stymacks of Fourth Avenue. He warned that his business faced ruin unless credit to his own and associated youths was stopped. Four boys planned to live on Shallow Point after forging orders to merchants for meat groceries and utensils. Items were delivered to a rear Edwards Avenue station. perishables moved today. Caught Stealing Milk A Young Thief Nabbed

Edgar Halloway an eight year old colored boy was caught taking a bottle of milk from a Broadway fruit store doorstep. Patrolman Edwards followed the trail and apprehended him near Liberty street. The boy admitted plans to eat breakfast at his aunt on Central avenue.
