Aviator Mars Survives Narrow Narrows Flight Crash

J C Mars narrowly escaped death when his Curtiss biplane plunged sixty feet into the Narrows opposite Fort Wadsworth during a flight from the Sheepshead Bay track to Staten Island. He was picked up by the tug Hustler after the wreck, later planning to reflight once the machine is repaired.

Miss Morford Weds Morgan W. Condit in Home ceremony

Miss Sarah Morford, daughter of Mr and Mrs T Morford of 140 Dunbar Ave, married Morgan W Condit of Newark at the Morford home. The ceremony was conducted by Rev Elliot White with only family and friends present, followed by a buffet lunch and gifts. The couple will honeymoon in Bar Harbor and reside in Newark.

Jealous Italian fires on rival injuring two in Jersey City

In Jersey City at Hillside and Morris avenues a jealous Italian named Lucia shot Joseph Devonne twice before fleeing toward Jeffrey street. Devonne and John Abruzio were wounded. Abruzio, holding a baby, had a bullet lodged in his stomach. Patrolman LaParre pursued Lucia but failed to capture him. both victims were hospital bound with non fatal injuries.

Dog Case Settled by Judge over Beagle Dispute

Arthur I. Clark of Branchport avenue recovered a lost beagle from Alexander Cioffi after a search warrant was served by Constable Miller. Judge Schoenlein ordered the dog returned to Clark with no compensation required. Also reported is a sheriff sale of Horace Stanton property in Rockwell avenue and Highlands M E excursion onboard the steamer Keansburg to Dreamland with plans for another Hudson River trip.

Stunts in the Air Thrill Asbury Park Crowd

Archy Hoxsey stole a Wright stables flyer in Asbury Park and performed a half hour of dramatic stunts over Deal Ocean Grove and nearby venues drawing thousands. Ralph Johnstone followed with sharper spirals and a new altitude record, as meet winds promised more sensational stunts and a cross country race on closing day.

Wyoming rancher Asher Parker returns to visit roots

Asher Parker, a former Long Branch boy, visits Wyoming Moorcroft where he owns an 800 acre ranch. The dry season forced him to dispose of all livestock except 100 horses including valuable brood mares.

Mount Olivet Baptist Church Sunday Services

Mount Olivet Baptist Church lists services with times for prayer meeting preaching and Sunday school inviting all. A separate notice reports Barzilla Ridgeway of Red Bank knocked down by a motorcycle at Broad and Wallace streets with minor injuries to his back and arms. The motorcyclist was thrown but uninjured. Minor vehicle damage reported to handlebars and saddles.

Hicks Will Bequests Noted in Freehold Probate

The Surrogate's Court at Freehold probates the will of John Hicks of Long Branch dated March 14 1910 appointing his brother Martin L Hicks as executor. He leaves his wife Ella Hicks mortgage proceeds of 5000 and 2500 cash from a 5000 life policy, plus household goods. His daughter Lena receives 1500 of the policy and the racehorse Half a Sovereign and future foals. His son Joseph gets 1000 of the policy. Martin D Hicks gets the Broadway building held in trust for Percy D and Leon Hicks with business assets and a plan to transfer when Leon is 30, Percy gets the parlor suit and bedroom pictures. Other wills noted include Emma J Warren of Long Branch, Morris Fleck of Asbury Park, and Marion G King of Little Silver with various executors and bequests.

Five hurt in runaway wagon near Manalapan Englishtown

Albert Nolan, three women and a boy were thrown ten feet into a gully after a wagon down a steep incline broke a tongue and ran out of control. Miss Rosetta MecCart Miss Florence Cunningham and Mrs. McGuire with son Thomas suffered bruises while Cunningham dislocated a collar bone. Ambulance rushed them to the Manalapan hotel for treatment.

Weather Bureau Forecast For New Jersey Coastal Waters

The U S Weather Bureau predicts fair weather in New Jersey for the next thirty six hours ending Sunday at 8 p m with moderate temperatures and northeasterly winds turning variable. An advisory warns of a tropical disturbance moving northeastward off the Carolina coast, with vessel wireless reports indicating high winds and heavy seas.

Turk Peddler Beaten and Robbed in Park Avenue Holdup

A Turkish linen peddler was attacked after leaving an Ocean Avenue hotel by a young man resembling an Italian in a light suit. The assailant demanded the victim’s money, stole his pocketbook, and fled as two men in a wagon found him dazed. Police were alerted and sought a suspect described as male, light suit, tan shoes.

Roosevelt arrives in Cheyenne at four this morning to a cheering crowd including cowboys Indians and business men. Drownings at Keansburg Claim Two Men in Deep Water

Two men from Newark and West Hoboken killed while bathing at Keansburg after entering deep dredger holes. Peter Kissner and F A Blanchard were pulled under and later recovered. Blanchard’s body found after a daylong search. No inquest. Coroner and families notified.
