Red Bank Jiners Enjoy Glam Bake Outing and Clash

Nearly a score of Nave sink Lodge Odd Fellows members and guests sailed to Island Beach in two launches the Independent and the Three Linkers. A clambake followed by baseball and other sports relaxed the group returning before seven. Foresters Court Monmouth also enjoyed a Sunday outing to Island Beach aboard Toward White's and Joseph Boskey's launches with a lively postclambake program and a comic bath mishap by committee member Mr Watts.

MISS CARR HOSTESS AT BROADWAY PARTY FOR MISS SHIELD

Miss Dorothy Townley Carr entertained a group of friends at her Broadway home in honor of Miss Marguerite Shield of Highland Park formerly Long Branch. New York August 13 Detective Burns waited at the Criminal Courts building for District Attorney Whitman as he prepared for a grand jury session. Eighteen witnesses were ready, but the DA cautioned that seven murder indictments might not be returned before tomorrow. An official from Madison Safe Deposit Company reported Becker’s wife made fourteen visits to the safe box between November and June, with contents still unknown.

Councils By Pleasure Bay Share Outing And Ballgame

Long Branch and Red Bank councils of Knights of Columbus joined for a joint outing at Pleasure Bay Sunday afternoon. About 225 participants attended a shore dinner at Bridge Water Inn with a river view reception arranged by Mine Host Murphy. A billiard and baseball game followed, Long Branch defeating Red Bank 10 to 2 in five innings. The event, well organized with decorated tables and generous dining, aimed to foster annual joint outings between the two councils.

Miss Conover Injured When Car Turrets In Allenhurst

Miss Conover of Allenhurst was badly bruised and her left leg fractured when the car she rode in with a friend turned turtle between Allenhurst and Red Bank. She was first treated in Asbury Park and then moved to Monmouth Memorial Hospital for surgical care.

Grandstand Tilt Happily Adjusted

For hours yesterday after noon the grand stand and boxes on the United States Hotel property faced removal due to a consent mix up. John B. White and Eugene A. Booster Dinner Plans Discussed at Board Meeting

The Board of Trade met at the Tallan agsee Hotel last night to plan the annual Booster Dinner and the invitation to the State Exempt Firemen’s Association to hold its May meeting. A committee will finalize the dinner details and arrangements, with William R. Warwick as chair and the firemen’s committee handling hospitality for the 1912 event. Monmouth Mayor Refuses to Sign Sewer Contract

Monmouth Beach council met at the fire house to discuss a sewer bid. The Philadelphia firm, lowest bidder, withdrew after demanding a $2000 certified check and bond. Cycle officer chases speeding car on Ocean avenue

Officer Swanson pursued a speeding automobile on Ocean Avenue last night. George D. Graey of Newark was driving south on Ocean Boulevard when the cycle officer signaled him. Graey did not realize he was being pursued and, upon apprehension, was found to be exceeding the speed limit and fined $20 at Recorder's Court.

Weather Bureau Forecast For New Jersey And Adjacent Areas

The Weather Bureau predicts the next 36 hours will bring generally fair and warm conditions in New Jersey with light south and southwest winds. Eastern Pennsylvania may see fair skies followed by possible thunderstorms early Wednesday, and western New York looks unsettled with chances of interior showers. Riverside Gun Club hosts multi event skeet shootoffs and a trophy

At Riverside Gun Club in Shrewsbury avenue near Red Bank, a Saturday program featured the J. Frank James Trophy and the DuPont Powder Company Trophy. Handicapped twenty five target events produced a three way tie with Constable William Chandler and George Gallo, Chandler then taking the shoot-off with a perfect score.
