Keansburg Carnival Week Opens With Big Parade

Keansburg New Jersey gears up for a full week of carnival festivities with a 4 PM parade to start the celebrations. The executive committee led by Otto Gehlhaus oversees preparations involving 15 000 visitors and 7 000 summer boarders amid heavy local support and decorations along Point Comfort Beach.

Multitude enjoys big Long Branch pageant and masque fete

The Long Branch pageant drew ten thousand spectators as Governor Wilson and his party attended a children’s festival along Ocean Avenue. A champion list of prize winners was announced for go carts dolls and masquerades. The pageant featured floats and decorations with local families and out-of-town entries, and plans for 1912 were already under way.

Mardi Gras Boat Ride and Harvest Home Bring Crowds

Patten Line schedules a Rockwell Avenue departure at 530 PM and Pleasure Bay at 640 PM with altered times. Grand stand seats for Saturday night concert and fireworks priced at ten cents. Mardi Gras on Boardwalk tonight followed by fireworks and music. Old First Harvest Home in West Long Branch draws large crowds with about 1000 expected on Wednesday August 16.

Salt Water Day Draws 5000 To Keansburg Resort

More than five thousand visitors arrived by wagon auto trolley and steamer for Salt Water Day at Keansburg. A special train from Freehold stopped at all stations while trolleys carried crowds from Middlesex County. Decorated grounds and readiness for next week's carnival marked a thriving resort day. Davis Smith Lumber and Coal Co updated their scales in anticipation of fall and winter business.

Long Branch Carnival Ends With Fireworks And Merriment

The 1911 Long Branch carnival closes with a masque fete repeat, fireworks, and a grandstand concert. The bluffwalk will open to revelers after the display. Athletics, saddle horse parade, and auto parade headlined today with many cups donated by local benefactors. Grand marshal Myron H. Oppenheim leads the saddle event as crowds expected to exceed prior gatherings.
