Governor reviews Children’s Parade at city carnival

Governors and citizens attend the third annual Children’s Carnival pageant in a parade that moves from South Bath to Ocean avenues after a 3 PM start delay. The event features eleven divisions, a grandstand review at 4 PM, and use of Ocean Park band and Scarboro Hotel Casino facilities.

Entertained for Church Fund at Cottage Place

A bridge and euchre party Wednesday at Mrs. P. J. Casey’s Cottage Place home supported the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea rectory fund. Guests included many local women. tables were set outdoors with colorful umbrellas and refreshments followed games and prizes. Coronation at Hollywood Hotel honored by Charles H. C. Clark who arranged the ceremony with Queen Elizabeth III as the central figure.

A conference committee of the House and Senate reported a wool tariff revision plan setting twenty nine percent duty on raw wool. The House favored twenty percent while the La Follette substitute in the Senate proposed thirty five percent.
