Auto collision injures DeWitt C. Lent at Allenhurst
DeWitt C. Lent, a mason from Asbury Park, was struck by a Ward Tip-Top bread car in Allenhurst. He suffered a fractured skull and broken collarbone and nose, and was taken to Ann May Hospital in Spring Lake with slight chances of recovery. Local Woman Almost Run Down by Express Train
Miss Julia Horwitz of this city narrowly escaped death when an express train bore down on her on Monmouth street at Red Bank. A quick- thinking Eisner employee pulled her from the track as the train halted briefly and then resumed. Her dress was torn by a car projection. Bridge Collapse Over Deal Lake Hurts No One Reported
Fifty feet of the Allenhurst Deal Lake bridge collapsed yesterday dragging a pile driver and engine owned by Owen Melee. Michael Tobin was bruised after being atop the pile driver as it toppled. Tobin rescued, others escaped to safety. Engineer Fred Wichseler urged Tobin to move as the bridge gave way with a sharp snap. None of the workers were seriously hurt.
