Feast of Passover Observed by Orthodox Hebrews
Beginning at sunset last night the Orthodox Hebrews of this city began the observance of the Feast of the Passover, which will continue for seven days. It is the most joyous season of the Jewish year and commemorates the exodus from Egypt. The leap year 6675 delays the festival by a month. The Seder meal inaugurates the week with unleavened bread, and Temple Israel on Jeffrey street opens for services. Jewish children will miss school on Sabbaths. Also note infant son of Mr and Mrs Harry Bray of North Long Branch died early today. Funeral directors Hyer and Flock assist.

Carnival Committee Formed for 1913 Chamber Event

George Gibbons a Brooklyn transplant to Long Branch died at age forty after a metal shaving penetrated his hand leading to blood poisoning. He suffered a fractured shoulder blade last summer on the Oceanport bridge and later worked on the New York and Long Branch railroad before moving to Brooklyn. Funeral in Star of the Sea Church with burial at Mt Carmel.
