Presbyterians Hold Annual Meeting in Small Congregation
About fifty members of the First Presbyterian church attended the annual congregational meeting chaired by Wellington LaMonte. Officers and church societies reported. treasurer showed a small balance with liabilities of 279 dollars. Trustees elected for three years were Newel Atchrey, Wellington LaMonte, and Prof. W. E. Cate. A social session followed with refreshments. Separately, a Caesarean operation at Monmouth Memorial Hospital on Mrs. Dore and her baby was successful. both are recovering well.

Henry De Grote Jr. of Portsmouth was en route to officiate as pallbearer at Albert Phillips funeral when his touring car skidded near Jacobus Crossing. The steering gear failed, the car collided with a tree, tearing the right wheels loose. De Grote escaped with minor injuries.

Heart Neuralgia Ends Life of Long Branch Foreman
John A. Chasey Sr. died at his daughter’s North Long Branch home from heart neuralgia just before turning 60. A carpenter by trade, he recently served as foreman at the Monmouth Beach Inn and had to stop work Monday. He leaves a sister, two half siblings, four children, and several in-laws.
