Last Guards Return From Korea to Retire in Three Months
The last of eight National Guard divisions called to Korea will be retired from federal service in three months. The 47th Division’s name and colors will be returned to Minnesota and North Dakota in December. Most guardsmen who joined in 1950 have already returned to civilian life, with regulars and draftees remaining to merge with the 3rd Infantry Division at Ft Benning in November. The 4th Division deactivation reduces Army strength to 17 combat divisions, with a possibility of activating one more regular division to reach 18.

Brown Jr studies tides, sun cycles, and lunar effects, showing crabs follow local tide charts and maintain 24 hour and 12 hour rhythms even in constant conditions. A California stay caused temporary six to seven day shifts, suggesting internal clocks but also environmental influence.
