Six youths held in Paramount death of Rudy Escobedo
Sheriff deputies arrested six young men on suspicion of murder in the death of 17 year old Rudy Escobedo who died from injuries after being struck by a car Saturday night. The suspects admitted they were in the vehicle that struck Escobedo and five friends as they walked home from a wedding shower in Paramount. Deputies impounded the murder vehicle and seek the driver who continued the chase up a driveway.

New York reports a court martial sentenced Sgt. James C. Gallagher to life imprisonment at hard labor for killing two fellow GIs in a Red Chinese prison camp. A Montebello family of three died in a highway crash on Highway 101 while returning from a vacation.
