The Flying Finn twins George and Charles Finn arrived at Long Beach Municipal Airport aboard a military plane with about 30 federal prisoners from Springfield Medical Center. They learned for the first time they would be paroled at 2 30 p.m. from Terminal Island Federal Correctional Institution after serving about 100 days of a one year term. Their hands and feet sometimes swelled though they appeared in good condition and waved to reporters as guards escorted them to a prison bus.

Two drownings were reported late Tuesday in the Tuolumne River near Hughson. James Barry, 52, of Rivera Los Angeles County, was wading when he stepped into a deep hole and disappeared. A nine year old boy, Tony Smith, also vanished after stepping into another hole.
