Robert A. Whitney of National Sales Executives told the Long Beach Sales Executive Club at the Lafayette Hotel Supper Room that salesmanship, not weapons, is the best means to beat communism. He outlined a three point program to boost prosperity by selling products, promoting the American system, and engaging American youth, and predicted major government spending cuts in 1953 and 1954. He gave a shorthand ad example and noted anticipated end of credit controls after the Defense Production Act. Clarence F. Miller introduced him. Malcolm Epley and David E. Beeman attended. Charles E. Duggan presided.
