Resignation Talk Grips Capital Over McGrath
Washington April 2 AP Attorney General McGrath met with President Truman for 15 minutes and refused to discuss reports he plans to resign. He left the White House after a heated exchange with Reigold Morris, the administration’s cleanup chief, over Morris’ probe into finances of cabinet members and top officials. McGrath said only that he discussed departmental matters with the President, and declined to predict any statement. The White House imposed a news lid until 3 pm and offered no further assurances.
