Local math contest draws 100 students to Allan Hancock College
About 100 aspiring mathematicians from central coast secondary schools will compete October 5 at Allan Hancock College in a Mathematics Council California Central Coast event. Brad Imano says 40 locals from Lompoc Valley and others from Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties form the field. 13 Lompoc Valley teachers will take part alongside moderator Gail Steiger.

Allan Hancock to Offer ROTC Courses Fall 1974
Allan Hancock College will offer ROTC basic courses for the first time starting Fall Semester 1974. Military Science I and Military Science 3 will be taught on campus with subsequent courses Military Science 2 and 4 completing the basic program, leading to potential commission as second lieutenants. Registration dates and times are listed, and the program welcomes women with no service commitment. I will be taught in BE 204, with registration Sept 23–26.

Parents tour the campus to meet teachers review course objectives homework and teaching philosophies. The seven period format runs 10 minute classes with student schedules and counselor program at 6 30 in the library.
