City Planners OK clock repair use permit in Lompoc

Lompoc Planning Commission approved a clock repair use permit for Paul Highfill at 228 S D St valid until June 1 1971. A second permit allowed an accessory storage building at 508 S M St exceeding 600 sq ft rules. An automotive transmission shop was deemed acceptable at 137 N I St with a permit while animal zoning revisions were delayed for study.

Nixon OKs huge jet SST project and funding plan

President Nixon approved the American supersonic transport program with a 96 million dollar initial request and government share near 1 billion for two prototypes. Boeing will build the jets in Seattle with test flights by 1972 end and airline deliveries not before 1978. Expect partisan fights in Congress over funding.

United Fund Names 1969 Lompoc Campaign Leaders
