The Busy Bees at the Lompoc Community Woman's Club meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Community Services House. Chairman Dottie Chilson invites members to attend, bring a sack lunch, and join in making dolls, clowns and holiday decorations.

Kenneth Coleman 36, of 421 North St in Lompoc was named president of the Lompoc Foster Parents Assn at its first fall meeting. He and his wife Lottie have fostered 10 teens over 11 years and own a blended family of nine children. Coleman, a bus driver for Lompoc Transit, holds a BS in social science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and studies counseling. He serves on the Klein Bottle Shelter advisory board and on SARB, with training in Transactional Analysis and Behavior Modification.
The Rape Crisis Center in Lompoc proclaims Rape Prevention Week with displays at Lompoc and Vandenberg libraries and a prevention film at Lompoc Library on Sept 20. Info tables run Sept 22–24 at Kmart and in front of Penney’s. finale is Sept 24 Elk’s Lodge fashion show with dinner for a $6 donation.
Yvonne Wright is elected president of Lompoc Valley Credit Women International at the Royal Coach Restaurant on September 13. New officers include Dixie Rockwell, Charlotte Slade, Sharron Babcock, and Shirley Korff. Installation is set for October 8 with a no host cocktail hour and Lompoc style barbecue. committees are named, and a Woman of the Year will be announced at installation. A Credit Co-Op is planned for February 12 at Andersen Pea Soup Restaurant Buellton with a $14 fee. Guest speakers will discuss credit legislation fraud bad checks and counseling.
The Lompoc Valley Art Assn invites artists aged 16 plus to enter two paintings for the ninth fall show at Lompoc Library from Sept 22 to Oct 15. Entry hours are Wednesday 1 to 3 p.m., with pickup Oct 16. Non member entry fee is $2 per painting. reception Sept 22 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
