Roy Howell of the Pittsfield Rangers, Roy Thomas of the Rocky Mount Phillies, and Monte Bolinger of the Modesto Reds each produced strong performances across AA and A leagues. Howell hit .242 with 15 homers and 47 RBI in 96 games. Thomas went 15-8 with a league leading 193 strikeouts and a top ERA. Bolinger batted .288 with 23 doubles and 42 RBI. Postseason saw Reading defeat Pittsfield in the league finals. Howell heads to the Florida Instructional League while Thomas and Bolinger plan college in the off season.
