Siege Breakthrough: Cambodian Forces Break Kompong Thom Standoff
Cambodian military spokesmen announced a surprise river assault by a mile-long gunboat convoy up the Stung Sen to break the 60 day siege of Kompong Thom. The attack occurred as a 4,000-man Cambodian task force pressed north from the south and bridges along Highway 6 hindered by Communist obstructions.

Space agency aims to put plain people in orbit this decade
NASA plans a cylindrical space station to house about a dozen people including eight to nine non astronauts for up to six months.
