Navarro case details conflict over campaign pay offers
Testimony from Lawrence Peck, a Younger campaign official, claimed Navarro negotiated for a paid post in the Younger campaign through early August while Flournoy supporters also sought him. Navarro admitted using a county credit card for long distance calls to campaign aides in July and August but said the calls were not directly for county business. He suggested Supervisor Catterlin’s vote against the Zaca Lake plan involved more than fire danger, and testified he sensed a bribe attempt by Rodriguez but did not report it to authorities.
