World Community Day scheduled by Church Women United

Church Women United of Lompoc plans World Community Day on November 5 at Valley of the Flowers United Church of Christ. The program starts at 7 30 p m with child care provided. The celebration traces to Pearl Harbor era origins and promotes justice and peace through a United Nations aligned theme Discover the Aspiring Majority with fundraising and service offerings including $3 gift certificates for disaster relief and self help projects.

Halloween Activities and Charity Drives Across Central California

Central California groups plan events from a Halloween costume party at the Lompoc YMCA to a Santa Maria calendar planning night. The Mission Vieja 4-H hayride and the Seventh-day Adventist trick or treat drive collect canned goods for Thanksgiving baskets, while churches invite members to wear work clothes for a final walnut harvest and potluck. Local organizers include George Knight and Mines in Atascadero with contact numbers in Santa Maria and Lompoc.

Quota Club Members Visit Lompoc Girls Club
