Democrats led in campaign contributions with 22 million to Republicans 16 million according to Common Cause up to Sept 1 1974. Butz Sees Stable Beef Prices through Early 1975

Agriculture Secretary Earl L. Butz told NBC that retail beef prices should stay roughly level through early 1975 while pork and poultry may rise. Tax committee ends Rockefeller audit

Joint Tax Committee wrapped up a six year audit of Nelson A. Rockefeller's income tax returns and handed a confidential report to Congress. The six week review by over 40 auditors questioned gift and business expense deductions and suggested net worth items might be adjusted. Rockefeller previously said he settled five years with the IRS and paid an extra $1 million.
