Coastline Initiative debate features developers and environmentalists
The Coastal Initiative campaign reports $435,500 in contributions led by Union Oil and PG&E as opponents argue the measure would strip coastal planning from residents and impose a four year regional control by commissions. Proponents say the plan expands regional oversight and allows balanced development during an interim period. A televised forum at City Hall Auditorium on October 26 will feature representatives from both sides.
