Port Chester Private Returns From Captivity in Vietnam
Pfc. Jesse B. Harris, a 20 year old from Port Chester New York, walked into an Allied base Monday after being captured by Communist troops four months earlier near his arrival in Vietnam. He was in good condition despite a 30 pound weight loss, malaria, and a slight arm wound. It remained unclear whether Harris escaped or was released. He appeared bewildered as he emerged from the jungle at Landing Zone Young near Tam Ky.
