NCO Wives Club Elects Officers At Vandenberg Base

Semi annual elections highlight the Non commissioned Officers Wives Club at Vandenberg Air Force Base. New officers for six months include President Jeanie Denton and Vice Presidents Hutchinson Causby. The NCO Wife of the Year will be announced at the Installation on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Reservations for the luncheon cost 50 cents.

Lompoc Grange Meeting Reports Local Activities

The Lompoc Grange met at Grange Hall with Mrs. K C Fairbanks presiding in the absence of Master Mrs. James Larsen. John Grossini reported good results from brush burns and bean harvest progress. Reports covered Christmas Cheer needs for the Needy, servicemen packages for Vietnam, and state convention literature planned by Laura Henderson. Lola Elvig noted a successful enchilada sale and trips to Los Angeles Ice Follies and Busch Gardens with entertainment by George Burroughs and Lena Pasquini. Refreshments were provided by several members and the next meeting is Oct 23 at 8 p m.

Grand Chief Companion to Visit Santa Barbara Circle

The Grand Chief Companion of the Companions of the Forest of America will visit the Lurene Circle in Santa Barbara on December 8, as announced at the group’s meeting. The gathering included a shipment sale, refreshments, poetry readings, and year bracelets awarded to nine members marking their first anniversary. Hospitality prizes and a working girls drawing followed the program.

Nuts and Bolts Slated to Entertain at PTA Supper

Lompoc's senior citizen band Nuts and Bolts will perform at the Lompoc Vista PTA pot luck supper on Tuesday October 21 at 6 30 p m in the school multi purpose room. A baby shower for Mrs Bert R Keyes Jr was held at the Vandenberg AFB Officers Club with pink and blue decor. Change-over luncheon honors volunteers at Vandenberg NCO mess

Family Services held a change-over luncheon at the Noncommissioned Officers Open Mess with a prime rib meal after a speech by Chaplain Lt. Col. Kopelke. Mrs. Kronauer presented certificates and thanked outgoing coordinator Mrs. Cullen, while awards recognized Service Stripes Hour Guard and Volunteers of the Month. New officers and board members were announced, with Mrs. White receiving the gavel and Mrs. Schalin named assistant. Floral door prizes went to Mrs. Mack, Mrs. Schumacher, and Mrs. Brandenburg.

Crestview School Carnival Set for October 25

Crestview School will hold its annual carnival Saturday October 25 from 1ll a.m. to 5 p.m. Pre carnival ticket sales run through October 22 for grades 3 6 in the base housing area. Families not buying tickets should display a no ticket sign on their door. The PTA fundraiser aims to provide school year fun for all ages with a Halloween costume contest and a Carnival King and Queen chosen from top ticket sellers.
