Jaycee Wives Host Parisian Social and Pageant Plans

Jaycee Wives held an October meeting at 1121 W Lime with Mrs Charles Horton officiating and Mrs Larry Flinkingshell as chair. Hosts included can can entertainers and a French music medley by Mrs Mike Siminski as plans moved to support the Junior Miss pageant on November 1 with a garage sale October 17 18 to fund a $50 runner up scholarship.

Power of Women Topic Highlighted at Camp Fire Luncheon

Mrs. Charlotte Benton spoke at the Lompoc Camp Fire Blue Bird and Camp Fire luncheon on women in the community. Council officials welcomed leaders and sponsors, noted 68 active groups, and outlined upcoming leader training and sessions at First Presbyterian Church with certificates after 15 hours.

Oktober Fest celebrates Bavarian joy in Santa Maria

The International Service Club of Santa Maria hosts the fifth annual Oktober Fest on October 18 with German dinner Sauerbraten, 7:30 p.m. start, music by Ken Bud's orchestra from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and a door prize. Grandchildren entertain on wedding anniversary

The Newdells celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary with songs guitar music and comedy acts as relatives gathered Thursday night. Darlene Doiron hosted at 1019 E Chestnut Ave Lompoc with assistance from five Doiron children and two Newdell sons families.

Circle hosts Halloween time at Eastern Star meeting

The October gathering of Miguelito Circle, Order of Eastern Star, met in the Masonic Temple library. Mrs. Robert Cox presided with Mrs. Cox named as Christmas party chair and hostess committee members listed for the November meeting. Members cut stamps, prepared for refreshments, and bingo prizes were drawn.

Reception to honor foreign students at Allan Hancock College

Lawyer discusses rising crime rates in Lompoc Solvang

Haynes Jones deputy district attorney told the Community Woman's Club the citys crime problem is worsening with more youthful drug use. The luncheon at Lions Inn featured welcomes for new members and birthday recognitions. Volunteers were asked for the Lompoc Thrift Shop and a section meeting highlighted an interior decorating talk. Halloween decor used yellow marigolds pumpkins and bronzed leaves.
