Teens Invite to Open Registration for Square Dance Class

The Lompoc teen square dance program welcomes 13 to 18 year olds to Thursday evening sessions at City Hall Auditorium from 730 to 930 PM. No charge during open registration. Taught by Ernie Lehman, the class is sponsored by Lompoc Parks and Recreation and Lompoc Rocking Squares. Terri Cornejo and Mark Du Frene announce their engagement from Ventura. Terri a Cabrillo High School graduate of 1973. Mark graduated in 1971. The wedding is planned next month.

PTA to hear tax initiative panel at Fillmore Elementary

Fillmore Elementary School PTA hosts a 7 p.m. panel on Proposition 1 the Reagan tax limit initiative with Joe Carlin Lompoc Unified School District Sol Lefkowitz City Councilman and a Lompoc Education Association representative. The panel explains a yes vote would curb state and local taxing and spending powers while a no vote preserves current provisions.

Camp Fire Leaders Complete Training Course in Lompoc

Forty seven adult volunteers completed a twelve hour leadership training course run by Lompoc Council of Camp Fire Girls led by Emma Owen training chairman. Participants included Marti Thompson Jo Anne Angle Nancy Davis Sibyl Scott Catherine Bailey and others with executive director listed among trainers. Camp Fire invites adults over 18 to volunteer to help girls ages 6 to 18 become self-sufficient calling the Camp Fire Office at 735-1030.

Presentation Meeting By Omega Pi Chapter Of Beta Sigma Phi

Mrs. Diane Kendrick hosted the Omega Pi Beta Sigma Phi presentation with the executive board as co hosts. Members heard each board member explain her office function and featured jewelry styles by Sarah Coventry distributor Mrs Holly Farnum. A door prize of white pearls went to Mrs Joanne White.

Living with Emphysema workshop schedule announced

The Lung Association of Santa Barbara County sponsors a three session Emphysema workshop for patients and families at the County Health Department. Topics include how lungs function chronic bronchitis causes and diagnosis rehabilitation and nutrition with speakers M Ds Ziemba Reichenberg and Sanfillipo and therapist Margie Gardener. Lambda Iota Beta Sigma Phi opens its cultural program series with Floyd Southern and Dave Escobedo from Mr Paintman store presenting new paint colors and floor coverings.
