Four Bozarth sisters reunite after 43 years in Lompoc home
Four Bozarth sisters gathered at Mr. and Mrs. George Davis home at 630 North Second Street for a 43 year reunion. Family members traveled from Orlando Florida Fresno California Yucaipa and Poplar Bluff Missouri with side trips to Santa Barbara Solvang Hearst Castle and San Simeon. Jerry Davis hosted entertainment in Santa Barbara and a Sunday dinner was hosted by Donald and Ruby Chambers before Southbound visitors left for home.

Head Start School Opens Year With Activities and Tours
The federally funded Head Start program at Peace Lutheran Church in Lompoc welcomes 30 children with room for 44 four year olds. Morning and afternoon classes run 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., with meals served. staff includes Head Teacher Mrs. Hamel and aides. Planned field trips include Santa Barbara venues and local farms, plus visits to a supermarket and police and fire departments. The program has operated since 1968, with prior sponsorship by the Lompoc Vandenberg Chapter of the AAUW, and participation is free to families as children prepare for public schools.

Westside 4-H Club earns a Community Pride plaque at a conference in Idylwild with Lompoc and Santa Maria clubs.
