Irrigation districts eyed for county water supply
County supervisors heard a proposal from Herman Farnum of Goleta Valley to form irrigation districts to secure water for agriculture. The plan aims to use surplus Cachuma water and guide allocations within districts, with studies and data to inform the General Plan revision. Separately, Southern California Gas Co filed a CPUC rate increase request of 151.4 million annually, potentially adding about eight cents a day to residential bills in 1976.
